Data-driven approaches to understanding community attitudes to climate action
Effective climate communication requires understanding the political values and practical constraints of different community segments. I'm developing data-driven tools to help councils tailor their climate messaging based on local demographics.
The Climate Compass (forthcoming). Based on research in political psychology and climate attitudes, this tool will provide ward and parish-level analysis of community segments, helping councils understand:
- Which values resonate with different groups
- What messaging approaches work (and don't work)
- Where structural barriers prevent action
- How to build broad-based support for climate policy
